Charge Place Wales - the community EV charging network for Wales.

Our ambition is to be the “go-to” electric car charging and Community Car Club solution for Wales:

We aim to use locally generated
Renewable Energy to power zero carbon miles.

To help the transition to greener transport, we aim to establish a Wales-wide network of charging points, powering vehicles with clean energy generated in Wales – the TrydaNi network.

What will the infrastructure supporting this transition look like?

  • Branded, reliable, easy-to-use and competitively priced.

  • Public Rapid (50kWh +) charge points at larger settlements throughout Wales.

  • Public Fast (7kWh +) charge points for sizeable residential areas with limited off-street parking.

  • Fast charge points for workplace car parks and shared destinations.

  • Operational support including a bi-lingual customer contact service.

  • Installed and maintained by local companies.

We aim to have over 500 charging sockets installed in Wales, by 2030.

Our long term aim is for the electricity supplying many of these charge points to be supplied by community-owned renewable energy, thus maximizing the value of these assets to Wales.

The TrydaNi network should..

..complement the infrastructure being planned and installed by other sector parties as part of the emerging national EV charging infrastructure. Our local plans will thus aim to take account of the broader picture of provision and universal operating platforms.

We will encourage..

..multiple ownership of the charge points in our network. TrydaNi recognises that organisations in different sectors wish to participate in the transition to an electric vehicle fleet while retaining some control and ownership over their local vehicle charging assets and revenues.

TrydaNi actively encourages these organisations to work with us as network partners to achieve shared objectives in a given locale.

In return, TrydaNi aim to offer an operational model that will provide specialist support, efficiencies and economies of scale that otherwise may not be attainable – a single body to install, operate, market and manage EV charge points. This provides clarity, simplicity of payment and operational efficiencies.
